Bio

Customary in the industry, the name demonstrates the family structure and the services provided. Thomas P. and Kathryn Dreifuerst, along with their sons Thomas J., Ben, and Sam, carry on a family trade dating back to 1891!

Over the years, horses, wagons, and sleighs have been replaced by straight trucks and tractor units with air-ride suspensions, GPS tracking, on-board computers, and driver amenities. While steamer trunks, heavy wood barrels, and wood shavings were used for packing dishes and other household items, today we offer a full line of specialty cartons, packing paper, bubble wrap, peanuts, polystyrene, cell-packs, tape and much more to assist customers with their self-packing. For those who request our professional packing service, an average size household can be properly prepared for moving in just one day, as opposed to weeks when doing it yourself.

Today, Dreifuerst & Sons Moving & Storage LLC is located at 33 W. 2nd Street in Fond du Lac  (the former Fond du Lac Reporter building). While many people continue to stop in the iconic building looking for the newspaper, they are often stunned at the renovations of the main office area and get a glimpse of Riverwalk Art Center, which is operated by Kathryn Dreifuerst. The gallery displays and sells work by regional artists, and is open Monday through Saturday for viewing.

The modern facility features state of the art design, climate controlled storage, and fire protection by nature of construction, including a sprinkler system. Loading docks are located on 1st Street and allow for efficient unloading and loading of goods. Storage vaults are provided for residential goods, with furniture items pad wrapped individually.

Over Mr. Dreifuersts 35 years of working in the household indusrty, there have been countless improvements in equipment, roads, and housing designs which have made the process of moving much faster, easier, and safer. Yet, the key to providing a professional service is to employ an experienced, trustworthy staff. Over this past year, the Dreifuerst team has earned many satisfying compliments. A common theme heard is that this is the first time in "24 moves", "28 moves", or "32 moves" that we have not had anything damaged. One customer who moved to Minnesota shook his head and wondered out loud, "Why did it have to take 20 moves to find you guys?" Most customers express that our crews are simply "wonderful."

By contrast, the interstate van line system is a collection of agents, owner operators, and day laborers which by nature minimize a customer's individual importance as each will likely never see you again. In contrast, Dreifuerst & Sons employees start and finish each order and have moved families mutiple times.  Much of our business is due to repeat and referral customers.

The Dreifuerst's encourage prospective customers, as well as anyone in the community, to stop in, meet the staff, and inspect the facility.
